Ozzy Osbourne, aged 75, is grieving the demise of his canine buddy Rocky. Breaking the news via Instagram on Thursday, the renowned musician shared that Rocky had taken his last breath two days prior. Touching upon their bond, Ozzy expressed, "Until we meet again, pal."
A loyal companion for over a decade
For fifteen years, Rocky had been a steadfast presence in Ozzy's life. In the caption, the musician penned down, "Forever in my heart." Actor Danny Trejo (80) expressed his sympathies by saying, "My thoughts are with you, Ozzy. Rest in peace, Rocky," while Osbourne's wife, Sharon (71), also showed her respects, remarking, "We've lost an original and Ozzy's constant sidekick - Rest in Peace, Rocky."
Sharon's Instagram post featured an emotional montage of the couple with Rocky, including pictures of him lounging in Ozzy's teepee dog bed and taking leisurely strolls. The clip was set to a melancholy piano melodie, which further emphasized the sentiment behind the montage.
Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne (38) also posted his heartfelt message by saying, "Goodbye to my father's best friend, Rocky. 15 years of joy and love," and shared it on his Instagram story.
Health issues
Ozzy Osbourne has faced numerous health challenges throughout his life. After a quad bike accident in 2003 and a fall in 2019, he underwent surgical procedures on his spine. Due to his injuries, he was forced to put his farewell tour on hold in 2019.
In January 2020, he publically revealed his diagnosis of Parkinson's disease during a conversation on the TV show "Good Morning America." In a subsequent show entitled "Ozzy Speaks" on the "Sirius XM" radio station, he shared that he was receiving stem cell treatment for the nerve condition in the year 2024.
Despite his own health struggles, Ozzy Osbourne continued to cherish and care for Rocky, who had been a source of comfort and companionship during his difficult times. Rocky's passing brought about a sense of death that Ozzy had to cope with along with his ongoing health issues.
