The Eurovision Song Contest this year has been anything but neutral due to the Politically charged events surrounding Israel’s participation and the protests at the venue in Malmö, Sweden. Felix Klein, Germany's anti-Semitism commissioner, has firmly criticized the protests, emphasizing a "common anti-Semitic pattern."

Felix Klein, the German government's anti-Semitism commissioner, has issued a strong condemnation of the anti-Israeli demonstrations at the Eurovision Song Contest. He expresses that this pattern "involves holding all Israelis accountable for the actions of their government or army, despite often condemning those actions themselves." Klein notes that the progressive Israeli cultural scene is already suffering greatly from this phenomenon.

Israeli creative artists are experiencing "increasing international isolation," Klein continued, also criticizing the participation of climate activist Greta Thunberg in the anti-Israel demonstrations. He called this action "sad, although expected" and further commented on her ignorance of the situation, stating she should understand that she was "attacking absolutely the wrong place".

Over 20,000 people protested against Israel's participation in the music competition at the ESC venue in Malmö, amidst the war in Gaza. During the event last Saturday evening, Israeli singer Eden Golan was met with boos and jeers, prompting some spectators to leave the arena during her performance. Golan, just 20 years old, finished in fifth place with her song 'Hurricane' due to strong audience support.

The recent Gaza War was initiated by Israel in response to the massacres and atrocities committed by Palestinian terrorists, causing the deaths of over 1,200 individuals on October 7th. For quite some time now, Benjamin Netanyahu's government has faced severe international criticism for their military action against Hamas in the deeply populated Gaza Strip. So far, there have been numerous civilian casualties, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis threatens more fatalities.
