Urgent Situations - Kid-Involved Fatalities Result from Devastating Fires in India

Local reports claim that a tragic fire has killed approximately 27 people, including children, at an amusement arcade in the Indian state of Gujarat. The victims' bodies were severely burned, making identification difficult, prompting police to collect DNA samples from both victims and their families.

This incident took place in Rajkot City on Saturday afternoon. Rescue services worked for about six hours to control the fire which left the building completely destroyed, as depicted in photos.

The cause of the fire is still unidentified. The arcade failed to obtain the necessary fire safety certification, and it only had one emergency exit. Unfortunately, after the fire began, this exit was blocked due to a collapsing temporary structure near the entrance, trapping visitors inside and preventing emergency services from entering the building.

The owner of the arcade was taken into custody, along with others who are now under investigation for possible negligent homicide and other charges.

Seven neonatal babies died in a separate fire

Unfortunately, another fire tragedy occurred late on Saturday in Delhi's Vivek Vihar district, where a neonatal clinic was engulfed in flames as per media reports. Twelve babies were successfully rescued from the scene and transferred to a different hospital, as shared by NDTV, quoting rescue workers. However, seven of these children ultimately succumbed to their injuries. Five babies remain in treatment.

The cause of the clinic fire is yet to be determined. The clinic owner is also being investigated; however, as per media outlets, he has disappeared.
