Kevin from the Jonas Brothers has been identified with skin cancer.
At the age of 36, Kevin Jonas, a former member of the Jonas Brothers, discovered that he has skin cancer. He shared the news with his fans and informed them about his decision to undergo surgery for it. Jonas encouraged his followers to have their moles examined regularly.
In an Instagram post on June 11, Kevin Jonas, one-time guitarist for the Jonas Brothers, revealed that he had surgery to remove a type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma. The 36-year-old indicated in a clip that the mole in question was on his forehead just above his hairline. He urged his fans to take care of their moles, reminding them that this is the most common type of malignant tumor in Central Europe, known as white or light skin cancer.
Before the operation, Jonas posted a clip on Instagram mentioning the scheduled procedure, saying, "Today they're going to remove a basal cell carcinoma from my head." After the operation was successful, he left the hospital, revealing a bandaged area covered with an emoji. "Now it's time to heal," he declared. Yet, he couldn't resist one more appeal, asking, "People, please have your moles checked." The musician later captioned his post with the words, "Friendly reminder, get your moles checked."
The German Cancer Society states that basal cell carcinomas are the most common tumors in Central Europe. Fortunately, the mortality rate for this type of cancer is much lower compared to other deadly skin disorders.
Due to his brothers Joe and Nick's involvement in postponing the European leg of their tour in April, Kevin Jonas had to undergo surgery to deal with the issue. The new season of the reality show "Claim to Fame," co-hosted by Jonas and his brother Frankie, is set to premiere on July 10.
