The title refers to a code for "I love you" ("I love you"), which was often used in pager messages in the 1990s. "I have set out to create a bold, excessive, festive Dance-Pop album with the symbolic 143, the numerical expression of love, as a consistent message," Perry wrote in her announcement.
"'143' is packed with powerful and provocative Pop hymns that fans love, and is an album with a lot of heart - and a lot of BPM (beats per minute)," according to a press release from Capitol Records, the record label that Katy Perry is signed to. On her Instagram account, the singer urges her fans to pre-order a signed album through her website.
Criticism of collaboration with Dr. Luke

The reason: For "Woman's World," Perry once again worked with the controversial producer Dr. Luke, who is responsible for producing some of Perry's earlier hits like "I Kissed A Girl."
