Katy Karrenbauer has had another operation
A few weeks ago, Katy Karrenbauer suffered a mild stroke. Following this, she underwent her first surgery. Now, she is preparing for her second operation. The 61-year-old actress is glad to soon be able to return to work.
At the end of May, Katy Karrenbauer alarmed her fans: The actress suffered a mild stroke and underwent surgery on her left carotid artery, as reported by "Bild" newspaper. Thirty days later, she is now undergoing the necessary surgery on her right carotid artery.
"The surgery went well, and there is no risk of stroke for me anymore. I have decided: Everything will be fine!", the 61-year-old reports from the intensive care unit of a Berlin hospital. She wears a large bandage on her neck. She is happy to have successfully overcome her second operation despite her great fear, she tells the paper further.
In the future, Katy Karrenbauer plans to focus more on her health. She has already reduced her smoking habit for this reason. "I am very grateful that I was able to overcome my illness because it was detected in time. For that, I am very, very thankful", the 61-year-old declares. From now on, it's "all uphill" for her.
Karrenbauer wants to work soon
Although her first scar has already healed well, it still causes her problems from time to time. But Katy Karrenbauer has big ambitions and dreams of a quick return to work after her second operation. "All my nerves were cut and it feels like that sometimes. But I have to go through it now because I want to work soon", she emphasizes.
Katy Karrenbauer, who became known in 1997 through the RTL series "Hinter Gittern - Der Frauenknast", only noticed her stroke by chance in May. As she could no longer move her hand and arm, she initially ignored it, she reported in an Instagram clip.
When she accompanied her father to the hospital on the same day, she mentioned the symptoms to the doctors there and received the advice to have herself examined more thoroughly. In the "Bild" newspaper, she reported further on the course of events: "I then went to my venous doctor and eventually to the hospital. I had hesitated and then to the emergency room." A multi-hour examination finally revealed that she had suffered a mild stroke and needed immediate surgery.
Karrenbauer shares her excitement about returning to work on RTL, stating, "I can't wait to get back to my role in 'Hinter Gittern - Der Frauenknast' on RTL after my recovery." Despite the occasional discomfort from her scar, she remains determined, saying, "The scar from my first surgery occasionally causes some issues, but I'm pushing through because I want to get back to my entertainment career."
