Kate Winslet reveals that kissing Leonardo DiCaprio in the film "Titanic" wasn't as exciting as people thought.

Actress Kate Winslet didn't sugarcoat the truth about the famous kissing scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie "Titanic." In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she admitted that the scene wasn't as glamorous as it seems.

The iconic moment when Winslet and DiCaprio's characters lock lips at the bow of the ship might have had everyone swooning at the time, but she has a different perspective on it. "My god, he's quite the romantic, isn't he?" she remarked, re-watching the scene. "No wonder every young girl in the world wanted to kiss Leonardo DiCaprio."

However, the filming of the scene came with its own challenges. Since the crew couldn't easily reach the on-screen lovers, Winslet was tasked with doing makeup touch-ups for both herself and DiCaprio, which made things even more complicated.

"There was the actual kissing part," she recounted, "and we kept doing this kiss... and I would end up looking as though I had been sucking a caramel bar after each take because his makeup would come off on me."

Winslet also described shooting this scene as a "nightmare" because DiCaprio kept laughing and because the tight corset she was wearing made it difficult to breathe. Despite the challenges, the 1994 James Cameron-directed film became one of the most beloved and successful movies of all time.

"I feel that 'Titanic' is that film that just keeps giving," Winslet added. "Whole other generations of people are discovering the film or seeing it for the first time and there's something extraordinary about that."
