Kate Winslet, despite her starring role in the iconic film "Titanic," had never set eyes on the actual shipwreck before her recent visit.

Until now, James Cameron's "Titanic" continues to be one of the most financially successful movies ever made. Kate Winslet's career skyrocketed due to this film, transforming her into a global sensation almost overnight. However, in a recent interview, she admitted that she's never managed to watch the entire movie from start to finish.

Famous for her emotional performances, Winslet is currently starring in the film "The Photograph," playing the role of former war correspondent Lee Miller with intensity.

During an interview with the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" (FAZ) to promote her new role, she also discussed her work in "Titanic," a blockbuster released in 1997 that still ranks as the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. Despite her prior roles in films like "Heavenly Creatures," "Sense and Sensibility," and "Hamlet," and her later successes in films like "Revolutionary Road," "Carnage," and "The Reader," for many, Winslet will always be associated with her role as Rose DeWitt Bukater, the tragic love interest of Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) who perishes as the Titanic sinks in the icy sea.

While millions of viewers have been moved to tears by "Titanic," Winslet confessed an unexpected truth in her FAZ interview: "I've never watched the whole thing."

Hunger Pangs

Winslet has attempted to watch the entire movie twice, but both times she was unsuccessful. This happened most recently in 2012 when "Titanic" was re-released in a revised 3D version, and she was required to attend a screening with her children. According to her, "One of my children was hungry, so we had to leave early, maybe after two-thirds."

Winslet clarifies that her decision was not driven by a dislike for the movie. "Titanic" continues to hold a special place in her heart today as it did during filming. However, she shares that she doesn't watch any of her movies more than once. "Titanic" is no exception. She describes the experience as odd and abstract. "I don't know any actors who enjoy watching themselves in a movie," she adds, implying that she may never see Jack and Rose's story come to an end.

Despite its enduring popularity and her influential role in it, Kate Winslet has never managed to watch the full film version of "Titanic," which she starred in alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. In a recent interview, she explained that hunger pangs caused by one of her children led to an early departure during a 2012 screening of the re-released 3D version.
