Justin Timberlake to submit a plea in his driving under the influence (DWI) court hearing.
Justin Timberlake is scheduled to attend a hearing this upcoming Friday, which marks his first return to the Hamptons area since his detainment. Timberlake pleaded not guilty to the accusations back in last month's virtual court session.
Authorities refused to provide any further insights regarding the plea agreement.
Our team at CNN has reached out to Timberlake's public relations representative, but they chose to stay silent. Timberlake's legal counsel, Edward Burke, also refused to comment on the matter.
During his arrest in June, police claimed that Timberlake was operating a 2025 BMW while apparently under the influence. Allegedly, he disregarded a stop sign and veered off his intended lane, as reported by the Sag Harbor Police Department. A police officer described him as struggling to concentrate and performing poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.
Timberlake himself told police that he had consumed just one martini and accompanied his friends to their residence, according to court records.
At a hearing held in late July, Timberlake's attorney argued against the allegations of intoxication, maintaining that his arrest was unwarranted.
"The police committed numerous excessive mistakes in this case," Burke stated at the time.
This story is still unfolding and will be updated accordingly.
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Justin Timberlake continues to stay active in his entertainment career, with multiple tour dates announced for the upcoming year. Following his previous court appearance, Timberlake was seen enjoying an evening at a local comedy club, showing his support for fellow entertainers.
