Jungle stars show off their luxury items
"I'm a Star - Showdown of the Jungle Legends" sends 13 celebrities back into the jungle camp starting August 16. Each star is allowed two luxury items. The dilemma of choice also leads participants to pack some curiosities.
Starting August 16, RTL will air "I'm a Star - Showdown of the Jungle Legends" daily at 8:15 PM. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the RTL show "I'm a Star - Get me out of here!" (IBES), the jungle is coming to summer for the first time. And for the first time, RTL+ will exclusively air the new episode every day, starting August 15. The stream will also begin on August 15. The travel destination is also new: instead of Australia, the 13 former IBES stars will head to South Africa.
Despite all these changes, the familiar rule remains for the jungle legends: only two luxury items are allowed per person in the jungle camp. One might think that the experienced former campers would find it easier to choose what to bring this time around. However, the list includes some tried-and-true camp classics, such as pillows - even ones printed with the faces of loved ones at home, like Sarah Knappik and Elena Miras.
Thorsten "Kasalla" Legat disagrees. "You have pillows at home. In the jungle, you have nothing," he explained in an RTL interview beforehand. Nothing - except a lip balm with SPF, because he has "very sensitive lips."
Beauty products are also a must for Georgina Fleur, Giulia Siegel, and Kader Loth - a bit of concealer, mascara, or lipstick can make a night watch by the campfire much more enjoyable.
Speaking of enjoyable: Gigi Birofino also cares about appearances. In addition to hair wax, the reality star is bringing tanning spray, just in case the South African sun doesn't deliver.
The luxury items of the jungle legends
- Giulia Siegel: Bronzer and baby powder
- Sarah Knappik: Earplugs and a pillow with the handprints of her daughter
- Georgina Fleur: Eyelash serum, red lipstick
- Winfried Glatzeder: nothing
- Mola Adebisi: Pillow and earplugs
- David Ortega: German flag, Spanish flag
- Thorsten Legat: Lip balm
- Kader Loth: Eyeshadow and concealer
- Hanka Rackwitz: Pillow and eyeliner
- Daniela Büchner: Earplugs and pillow
- Elena Miras: Pillow and her daughter's stuffed animal
- Eric Stehfest: Pillow and heart necklace from wife Edith
- Gigi Birofio: Tanning spray, hair wax
Glatzeder considers himself enough luxury
Actor Winfried Glatzeder, on the other hand, consciously opts for minimalism. He has chosen "himself" as a luxury item for a good reason. His renewed IBES participation is "a journey of self-discovery" - and a luxury item would be a "restriction of my freedom." He enjoys being "alone in the camp with myself." Someone might have told him that he won't be the only one in South Africa fighting for a second chance at the jungle crown and 100,000 euros.
Also joining them are Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen, who will also host "I'm a Star - Showdown of the Jungle Legends." Dr. Bob is also making the trip to South Africa and is likely looking forward to the legendary phrase "I'm a star - just give me the tanning spray!"
After selecting their luxury items, the celebrities return to the jungle camp for another challenging stint. With Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen as hosts, they face various tasks and challenges to survive and ultimately compete for the jungle crown.
As the days pass, Giulia Siegel finds the bronzer and baby powder she packed to be invaluable, enhancing her appearance during nightly campfire gatherings.
