Berlin Director and Screenwriter Julia von Heinz is part of the jury at the Venice Film Festival. This was announced by the festival's press office. The 48-year-old is known for her film "Und morgen die ganze Welt", which had its premiere in Venice in 2020. The drama tells the story of a young woman who joins an Antifa group.

The Venice Film Festival takes place from August 28 to September 7. The president of the jury, who decides on the Golden Lion award, is the French actress Isabelle Huppert. Other members of the jury include the American director James Gray and the Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland.

The festival will be opened with the long-awaited second part of Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice" with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. American actress Sigourney Weaver is set to receive the Golden Lion for her career achievement. The entire festival program will be announced on July 23.

Von Heinz's film "Treasure" with Lena Dunham and Stephen Fry is set to be released in cinemas soon. The German cinema release is on September 12.
