Emma Roberts - Julia Roberts' classics give her comfort

Emma Roberts (33) says that the cult classics of her famous aunt Julia Roberts (56) are her "comfort films." She enjoys watching movies like "My Best Friend's Wedding" when she is alone. Additionally, she mentioned that she can imagine a shared film project with her. "I would love to find the perfect project for me and my aunt, and I know something great would come out of it." However, nothing suitable has been found yet. "She's the best, and I want to do something with her. We send each other books and talk about things, but it hasn't been the right thing yet."

Julia Roberts' Favorite Films of Emma Roberts

In an interview with "Variety," published on July 5, the actress revealed: "I watch her movies when I'm alone during filming. I've downloaded some of her films onto my computer that I watch for comfort." Among them are "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "America's Sweethearts."

And who knows, maybe the female duo will appear together in a film. "I would love to find the perfect project for me and my aunt, and I know something great would come out of it." So far, nothing has been right. "She's the best, and I want to do something with her. We send each other books and talk about things, but it hasn't been the right thing yet."

The 33-year-old is the daughter of Julia Roberts' brother Eric (68). In earlier interviews, she openly spoke about her relationship with the famous actress - and emphasized in each one that she feels no pressure to follow in her footsteps. She never "wanted to be like her," Emma told "Tatler" in March 2022. "I love her so much, I love her work, but I'm just doing my own thing."

Criticism is "irrelevant"

In her latest film "Space Cadet," which was released on Prime Video on July 4, Emma Roberts plays a party girl from Florida who becomes the only hope for a NASA space program. She is unfazed by criticism: "It's meant to be serious," she told "Variety" about the romantic comedy. "And people will probably laugh at it, but that's okay." She fell "so in love" with the script. "I had the feeling that it reminded me of all the films I loved as a child and teenager, and it felt fresh and yet nostalgic at the same time. Everything I had read was so dark and depressing and felt somehow small, and I just wanted to do something inspiring, funny, and light, and that was it for me."
