Jon Voight, at 85, is eager for a swift conclusion to the ongoing divorce drama between his daughter Angelina Jolie, 49, and her spouse Brad Pitt, 60. Voight exhorted Pitt to bring an end to the proceedings. "I hope it's over," Voight shared with Fox News Digital. "It's tough. I wish they could find a way to reconcile." Voight characterizes the situation as "difficult."
The renowned duo has been embroiled in a legal tussle since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, with their shared vineyard in southern France serving as the primary point of contention.
Pitt "needs to put an end to this ordeal"
However, for Jon Voight, the wellbeing of the couple's six children - Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Vivienne and Knox (16) - is his primary concern. "I believe the children require some stability," Voight stated. "I adore the children and I cherish my daughter. I hope Brad Pitt will stand up and do what's necessary to conclude this ordeal."
Reports suggest that the children have opted to support their mother. Shiloh, the eldest daughter, was given court approval to discontinue using her father's last name and adopt "Jolie" as her sole surname, following her 18th birthday.
Zahara, the second eldest, introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" at her college in November 2023, while Vivienne, another daughter, was listed as "Vivienne Jolie" in a Broadway production program in May 2024. Sons Maddox and Pax are also said to have no contact with Brad Pitt.
Jolie and Pitt crossed paths while filming "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in 2005 and subsequently got hitched in France in 2014, following a 2012 engagement. Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, and the pair was officially declared "legally single" in 2019.
Pitt's decision to end the legal battle could significantly benefit the children, who are currently seeking stability. Voight hopes that Brad Pitt will take the necessary steps to conclude this ordeal and prioritize the best interests of his six children with Angelina Jolie.
