JLo celebrates birthday in 'Bridgerton' style
For her 55th birthday, Jennifer Lopez came up with something really special. In the celebrity hotspot Hamptons, it's - as it should be for a popstar - in a pompous costume for the "Bridgerton" party. Meanwhile, Ben Affleck was nowhere to be seen.
Jennifer Lopez doesn't turn 55 until the coming Wednesday, July 24. But, as it's often difficult to celebrate one's birthday during the week with a big bash, the singer decided to celebrate it earlier that weekend in grand style and with a special theme - in the style of the Netflix hit series "Bridgerton". As photos from US magazine "People" show, JLo's guests appeared in ball gowns at the party in the Hamptons. Her mother Guadalupe Rodriguez, for example, chose a blue dress with white detailing.
Before her party, Lopez shared a joyful post on Instagram. Along with three selfies, she wrote that it was "going to be an amazing day", and wished her followers a "beautiful Saturday".
Affleck was not spotted at the event - nor the next day at lunch. According to "Page Six", Lopez continued her birthday celebrations with family and friends in the Hamptons on Sunday. At the lunch at "Arthur & Sons", besides Lopez were photographed her two children, her longtime manager, and her sister.
Last year, Lopez celebrated her birthday at home with her family and friends, as she shared on Instagram. She wrote that she was "extremely grateful to be at this point in my life journey, where I am, with so many wonderful, caring people, with whom I can share everything".
Rumors of a marital crisis have been circulating for months. At important events in the last few weeks, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been seen alone. They also didn't see each other on their second wedding day on July 16. While Lopez is currently enjoying the summer in the Hamptons - among other things with Affleck's daughter Violet - her husband is living on the other side of the country in Los Angeles. The most obvious sign of a separation is the planned sale of their shared villa in Beverly Hills.
