Jens Stoltenberg urges allies to maintain their military support for Ukraine.

Before the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting in Prague, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged allies to keep offering military aid to Ukraine. "Ukraine can potentially triumph, but only if it receives ongoing support from the NATO members," Stoltenberg noted during a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on Thursday.

Fiala verified that Ukraine would start receiving artillery ammunition deliveries "within the next few days," which the Czech Republic had purchased with a coalition of 15 countries from the global market. Stoltenberg regarded this news as "quite fantastic." US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed admiration for the initiative as well.

Czech government spokesman Tomas Kopecny predicted that Ukraine would receive between 50,000 to 100,000 shells in June. Kopecny shared that the overall sum of nearly 1.7 billion euros had been accumulated to secure the acquisition of 500,000, 155 millimeter NATO-sized shells in the initial phase. Germany is also involved in the initiative.

The foreign officials from the 32 nations and the ministers are scheduled to gather for an informal dinner at Prague Castle that evening. The intended discussions, however, are planned for the subsequent day.

The main goal is to lay down a more firm foundation for the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, aiming to "solidify the support for Ukraine," according to Stoltenberg. In addition, the alliance seeks to boost the role of NATO in organizing security support.
