Jennifer Lopez honors Ben Affleck on Father's Day, calling him 'our hero'.
On Father's Day, Jennifer Lopez took to social media to honor not one, but two significant father figures in her life – her husband, Ben Affleck, and her own dad, David Lopez.
Posting a black-and-white image of Affleck in a fighter plane from the 2001 movie "Pearl Harbor", she wrote, "Our hero. Happy Father's Day." Followed by another black-and-white photo of her father in a truck, she said, "Happy Father's Day, Daddy."
News outlets have reported that Lopez and Affleck, who have been married nearly two years, are currently living apart. Lopez also cancelled her Summer concert tour, stating that she needed time with her children, family, and close friends.
"I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel that it was absolutely necessary," Lopez shared in a statement. "I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time."
Lopez has 16-year-old twins with her ex-husband, singer Marc Anthony. Affleck has three kids from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner.
Speaking to NBC in 2023, Lopez praised Affleck as a tremendous father. "He's a wonderful, wonderful father," she said. "And a father figure to (her twins) as well, because he has his own three beautiful children, and then there’s us." She continued, "He's fantastic. He really steps up to the challenge of what that is and what that means. And they love him. They love him. And they appreciate him, and so do I."
