A celebrity was almost unmasked because his mask slipped. In the new episode of "The Masked Singer", the plush character Kiwi bird saved himself despite the incident and remains in the race.

"The Masked Singer" - Jenke von Wilmsdorff was behind Mars Mouse

The glittering Mars mouse is no longer taking part in the music costume show"The Masked Singer". The golden-blue plush mouse was unmasked in the live rate show on ProSieben - the journalist and actor Jenke von Wilmsdorff was behind the elaborate costume. He is known for his documentaries and true crime episodes on ProSieben.

"I had fun"

The show features celebrities who hide in huge and elaborate costumes. They sing well-known songs. A panel of judges makes predictions about who might be behind the masks. Every now and then, small clues are interspersed to help in their search.

During the songs, the candidates' voices are unaltered, but before and after they can be heard distorted. Viewers vote via app to decide who is eliminated. The ninth season of the show, which originated in South Korea and has already been shown in many countries, is currently airing. It was the third episode of the weekly show.

The Mars mouse with its googly eyes only joined the show in the second episode. This was because von Wilmsdorff himself had been a guest on the show's jury in the first episode. After the unmasking, the TV reporter said: "I had fun. I didn't have any more oxygen. But I had fun."

Kiwi still in the running

Probably the biggest surprise of the evening: the Kiwi bird is still in the running. In the second episode, the mask was unintentionally dislodged by a wind machine on stage. The celebrity was in danger of being exposed immediately.

However,ProSieben left Kiwi in the race and now flirted with the incident in the third episode. Huge safety pins were attached to the bird costume and presenter Matthias Opdenhövel repeatedly asked Kiwi not to dance too hard or move too jerkily. After all, the audience wanted to give Kiwi another chance.

So these costumes are still in the music installment show: an ice princess, the Christmassy Klaus Claus, the black horse Mustang, a troll, a giant one-eyed plush lollipop and Kiwi.

Before the Mars mouse, a fire extinguisher - behind which was model Eva Padberg - and an okapi animal (Katja Ebstein) had already been thrown out in the previous episodes.
