The US portal "TMZ" quotes an unnamed informant as saying: "Jamie had a massive infection in one of his legs that forced him into hospital for weeks. He had five unsuccessful surgeries to contain the infection, and doctors decided the only solution was amputation." According to TMZ, the amputation took place around a month ago. Nevertheless, Jamie Spears is still "not well".
The US magazine "New York Post" had already reported in October that the father of US singer Britney Spears looked "extremely thin" and had lost more than eleven kilos in body weight while requiring medical treatment for an infection.

After Britney Spears reunited with her mother, Lynne Spears, for the first time last week, there are now rumors of a possible reconciliation with her father. An insider claims that the singer has calmed down after the fierce battle over her guardianship. She is even said to have admitted that she misses her father and wants to help him.
