Jamie Foxx celebrates a special birthday

Hollywood star Jamie Foxx has had an extremely turbulent year: in April, the Oscar winner had to be admitted to hospital due to apparently serious "medical complications". It was only last week that Foxx appeared in public again for the first time at an awards ceremony. Today, December 13, the actor is celebrating what he himself describes as a "special birthday" on Instagram.
To mark his special day, Foxx posted a series of pictures on the social network showing him with sunglasses at the wheel of a car. The actor, who turned 56, wrote: "This birthday is a special one."
He then thanked all the people who had prayed for him during his illness. He wants his fans and followers to know: "I needed every prayer." He concludes with the words: "I send joy to everyone, because if it's my birthday, it's also your birthday."
What did the star fall ill with?
Once again, it is not clear from the social media post what exactly led to his hospitalization eight months ago. Foxx has so far kept this very private question under wraps. During his appearance at a Critics Choice Association awards ceremony on December 4, he simply stated that he had "seen the tunnel" but not the light, adding: "It's hard when it's almost over."
Foxx first addressed his fans in a video this summer. "I've been through hell and back," he said at the time through tears. His sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne had saved his life. The star also thanked his family in his post on Instagram today.
It is also important to note that the US actor and Oscar winner is currently accused of sexually assaulting a woman in New York in 2015. This is according to a document filed with a New York court. In the document, the plaintiff Jane Doe states that Foxx "intentionally and without her consent offensively touched her using force" in a bar.
