Jack Nicholson keeps in touch with ex Lara Flynn Boyle

Jack Nicholson and Lara Flynn Boyle prove that love can transform into friendship. Nicholson, who has been retired from acting for approximately 15 years, leads anything but a retiree's life according to Boyle.

The former lovebirds Lara Flynn Boyle and Jack Nicholson maintain their friendship despite the end of their relationship. As the actress shared in a recent interview with "People" magazine, they don't meet up anymore but still keep regular contact: "We don't live together," said the 54-year-old Boyle. Nevertheless, Nicholson, a three-time Oscar winner, has been a significant part of her life. Nicholson dated his colleague from 1999 to 2001, and in 2006, the two were photographed together on vacation in St. Tropez by paparazzi. Shortly after, Boyle met her current husband, entrepreneur Donald Ray Thomas.

Nicholson, who hasn't been seen on the big screen since 2010, is not living in retirement according to Boyle. "In Jack's world, there's no retirement. Never," she further stated about the 87-year-old.

Rumors circulated that Nicholson once confronted Boyle's ex-boyfriend, comedian David Spade, in front of him. However, according to Boyle, this never happened: "I think some people like to spread that rumor to get publicity," said the "Twin Peaks" star. She has never gone out with another Hollywood star since then: "I made a big exit when it comes to actors," she jokingly added.

Jack Nicholson was supposed to star in "Toni Erdmann"

The last time Nicholson was seen on the big screen was in 2010. He appeared alongside Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, and Owen Wilson in the little-noticed romantic comedy "How Do You Know?". The film, with a reported budget of 120 million US dollars, grossed only underperforming 49 million dollars - making it a significant flop.

Since then, Nicholson has been in an unofficial, unannounced retirement - a fact confirmed by his late "Easy Rider" co-star Peter Fonda in 2017. In 2013, Nicholson turned down the lead role in the tragicomedy "Nebraska". For the comedy "St. Vincent", in which he was involved, he reportedly recommended Bill Murray.

A final potential film project fell through in 2017. Nicholson had already signed on for an American remake of the successful German comedy "Toni Erdmann", but the project never came to fruition. Thus, his illustrious acting career ended quietly.

Despite their breakup, Lara Flynn Boyle and Jack Nicholson remain close, often discussed in Hollywood's Entertainment sphere as a notable celebrity couple. Following their separation, Boyle shared that despite not living together, they maintain regular contact, acknowledging Nicholson's ongoing influence in her life.

In the world of Hollywood Entertainment, renowned actor Jack Nicholson, known for his celebrity relationships, continues to lead an active life, contrasting the typical retired lifestyle often associated with colleagues.
