Prince George - Isn't Eton College his first choice?

Prince William (41) and Prince Harry (39) were there, but the renowned Eton College may have to do without Prince George (10) as a pupil. As the Daily Mail now reports, speculation is mounting that William's son, who is second in line to the British throne behind his father, will instead be heading to Marlborough College. His mother, Princess Kate (41), went to the school in the county of Wiltshire.

Doesn't Kate want to send George to a boys' school?

The Princess of Wales is said to have recently visited her former school for the second time in just a few weeks. This time accompanied by her husband and ten-year-old George. According to the report, the educational institution costs 47,000 pounds (around 55,000 euros) per year. At Marlborough College, unlike at Eton, where only boys attend, female and male pupils are taught together. Something that is reportedly very important to Kate.

Before Prince William, Princess Kate and Prince George went on a tour there, the family also visited Eton College in June, according to the Daily Mail. The school is located near Windsor Castle and not far from Prince William's family's current home.

George currently attends Lambrook School with his eight-year-old sister Princess Charlotte and his five-year-old brother Prince Louis. George and Charlotte previously attended Thomas's Battersea School, which is not far from Kensington Palace in London. Louis went to a pre-school in London. However, the family's move to Windsor in 2022 - where they live in Adelaide Cottage - also meant a change for the siblings in terms of schooling - for the first time, all three children are at the same school together. Prince George presumably still has some time to choose a new educational establishment, but a change is likely to take place in 2026 at the latest.

Prince George's potential shift from Eton College to Marlborough College is gaining traction, as reported by the Daily Mail. The Duchess of Cambridge, George's mother, had visited Marlborough College twice recently, accompanied by her husband and son. Marlborough College, unlike Eton, offers co-education, which seems to be important to Kate. They previously visited Eton College in June.

At present, Prince George and his siblings attend Lambrook School, but a change in education seems imminent due to their relocation to Windsor in 2022. Marlborough College or Eton College might be George's next destination, as speculation surrounding his succession to the throne increases. Princess Kate's educational choices for her children have been a subject of interest, with Prince Harry and Prince William, her brothers-in-law, also having attended prestigious schools.
