Iris joins Peter Klein in the container
It has been clear for some time that Peter Klein will be taking part in "Promi Big Brother" this year. However, he is now in for a less than pleasant surprise. Because his ex Iris, with whom he has been fighting a war of the roses for months, is also moving into the container. And: he knows nothing about it.
One day before the first candidates move into the "Promi Big Brother" house, broadcaster Sat.1 has given the first insights into this year's container. Other residents have also been announced.
Jürgen Milski, for example, is likely to experience a kind of déjà vu. After all, he was one of the very first "Big Brother" contestants in Germany in 2000. Now, 23 years later, he is once again making himself comfortable in the celebrity edition of the format. He simply wanted to say "thank you", he explained his motivation. "It's a great honor for me."
However, someone else on the show will provide a real cast highlight: Iris Klein. As the presenting duo Jochen Schropp and Marlene Lufen announced at a press conference, Daniela Katzenberger's mother will also be gracing the container this year. This is particularly explosive as her husband Peter Klein's participation has been known for some time.
"I fear the worst"
The first candidates are already being brought into the "Promi Big Brother" house before the show is shown on television from Monday. According to information from the "Bild" newspaper, Peter Klein is currently waiting in a hotel to move in. He is completely shielded from the outside world, so he should have no idea what surprise awaits him soon.
Iris Klein will only become part of this year's container crew at the start of the TV broadcast. Viewers will then be able to watch live to see how the clash between the two will unfold. Iris and Peter Klein have been engaged in a public war of the roses since the beginning of the year. However, they are said to have had no personal contact with each other for eight months now.
"I'm curious to see how he reacts," said Iris Klein during the press conference. "I hope for the best, but I fear the worst." However, she no longer has any feelings for her still-husband and hopes that he will soon sign the divorce papers. "I also want to drop the name." She is now strong enough to face him.
No luxury, but night watch
The "Promi Big Brother" house is opening its doors at a new location this year: the production is moving from Cologne-Ossendorf to Cologne-Bocklemünd. The first season in 2013 was still realized in Berlin. With the move, the show is nevertheless returning to its roots: the house will once again be a container - and there will be no luxury this year.
What the celebrities don't know yet: There will only be one area, which will be kept very spartan. The fridge is empty, there is only oatmeal. The toilet is not heated and all participants have to sleep in one room - in bunk beds and double beds. There is no privacy. Another new feature is likely to cause the stars some trouble: they have to keep night watch in teams of two - and press a buzzer in the courtyard every ten minutes. Otherwise, the lights go on all over the container and a shrill alarm sounds.
The other residents already announced by Sat.1 this year include Reality star Yeliz Koc, player's wife Dilara Kruse, reality starlet Patricia Blanco, former "Bachelor" Dominik Stuckmann, scandal streamer Ron Bielecki, actress Manuela Wisbeck, reality star Matthias Mangiapane, influencer Paulina Ljubas, magician Philo and content creator Marco Strecker, who has won a wildcard for the show.
- Despite not knowing about Iris's participation, Peter Klein will be sharing the "Promi Big Brother" house with his ex-wife, adding an explosive twist to this year's reality TV show.
- Besides Jürgen Milski, another notable celebrity joining "Promi Big Brother" is Iris Klein, Daniela Katzenberger's mother, who is bound to create a stir as her husband, Peter Klein, is also a contestant.
- Broadcaster ProSiebenSat1, known for its reality TV shows, will air "Promi Big Brother" this year, featuring an array of celebrities living in spartan conditions and taking turns keeping night watch.
