Actress - Iris Berben is happy about her career without social media

Acting icon Iris Berben (73) is glad that social media did not play a major role in her career. "Today, a career without social media is not possible. My private life is too valuable to me to share it everywhere," she told the Münchner Merkur newspaper.

"I'm not trying to demonize social media. I don't want to oppose a development. But we have to ask: are we still in control of this development or has it already gone the other way?" Anonymity in social media is becoming "a problem for discourse in our society".

Berben's film "791 km" is currently back in cinemas. It is about four travelers who actually wanted to take the train from Hamburg to Munich, but end up in a cab because of a storm. There, the passengers' very different philosophies of life collide. Joachim Król plays the cab driver. The film celebrated its world premiere in Munich on Tuesday evening.
