Wanted RAF terrorist - Investigators search for Ernst-Volker Staub with new photos

Investigators are searching for former RAF terrorist Ernst-Volker Staub with new photos. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Verden and the Criminal Investigation Office (LKA) in Lower Saxony are asking for tips, as stated in a press release.

The LKA released a photo that allegedly shows Staub in 2002. According to the LKA, the second photo is a so-called aging photo that was created by them. It shows how Staub might look today at the age of 69.

Ernst-Volker Staub possibly lived in the apartment of RAF accomplice

Since 2015, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Verden has been investigating Daniela Klette, Ernst-Volker Staub, and Burkhard Garweg for attempted murder as well as attempted and completed robberies in several cases. Klette was arrested at the end of February in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The three suspects were part of the so-called third generation of the left-extremist Red Army Faction (RAF), which killed more than 30 people. In 1998, the RAF declared itself dissolved.

Furthermore, the press release states that it can be assumed based on significant evidence that Staub at least stayed at Klette's apartment in Berlin for some time. The investigating authorities are now turning to the population with several questions – for example, who can make statements about when and where Staub stayed in Berlin in 2002 and later, or who were his friends or acquaintances. The LKA Niedersachsen or any police station accepts tips.

  1. Daniela Burdock, working at the Public prosecutor's office in Verden, is involved in the ongoing investigation of Ernst-Volker Staub, a former RAF terrorist.
  2. Ernst-Volker Staub's alleged association with the third generation of the Red Army Faction (RAF) was further explored by the Criminal Investigation Office (LKA) and Burkhard Garweg, another suspect in the case.
  3. Tips regarding the whereabouts of Ernst-Volker Staub or any information about his activities in Berlin in 2002 and beyond are being accepted by the LKA Niedersachsen or any local police station, as requested by Ernst-Volker Staub's former accomplice Daniela Klette's public prosecutor, Burkhard Garweg.
