Ingrid Steeger admitted to hospital
"Then I'll make a slit in my dress and find it wonderful." This line from the comedy series "Klimbim" will probably remain forever associated with Ingrid Steeger. However, the jester of yesteryear has been in poor health for years. Now she has been taken to hospital with a bowel obstruction.
Actress Ingrid Steeger is said to be in very poor health. As reported by the "Bild" newspaper, she was admitted to a hospital in Bad Hersfeld, Hesse. The former "Klimbim" actress told the newspaper that she had an intestinal blockage.
Steeger has been living in a nursing home in Bad Hersfeld for some time. "I came to the clinic yesterday morning because I had severe stomach pains. I won't be operated on, it will be done with tablets. I'm staying in hospital until Friday," she says, describing her current condition. "I have an intestinal blockage, I'm not feeling well. I'm hoping for the best." Mentally, however, she is "doing quite well".
However, friends and fans have been worried about the actress, who has lost a lot of weight and is confined to a wheelchair, for some time. In the fall of 2022, the 76-year-old announced that she would have to move into a nursing home after a fall in her own home.
From soft sex movies to "Klimbim"
In January 2020, the TV icon had already made her ailing health public in an interview with the German newspaper Bild. On New Year's Day 2020, she had suffered a cardiac arrest during a walk. Her companion resuscitated her. A short time later, she was fitted with a defibrillator system in hospital.
Born Ingrid Stengert in Berlin in 1947, she began her acting career in the early 1970s. After appearing in various soft sex films, she gained great popularity from 1973 with the slapstick series "Klimbim". TV stars such as the late Elisabeth Volkmann and Peer Augustinski acted alongside her.
Steeger later suffered from her image as a permissive prankster. She was not destined for lasting happiness in her private life either. In 2004, she wrote the book "Meine MANNschaft" (My MANhood) about her difficult relationships with men, including partnerships with directors Michael Pfleghar and Dieter Wedel.
Steeger last appeared in the 2006 Peter Thorwarth film "Goldene Zeiten" alongside Wotan Wilke Möhring and "Das A-Team" star Dirk Benedict. In 2019, she was still on stage at the Bad Hersfeld Festival.

Despite her struggles with health issues, Ingrid Steeger shared her love for entertainment, mentioning that she still enjoys watching "erotic movies" on TV as a form of relaxation.
Adding to her versatile career in the entertainment industry, Steeger also starred in soft sex movies prior to gaining fame with the slapstick series "Klimbim."
