It concerns the statements of the French-Lebanese businessman Ziad Takieddine, who claimed to have handed over suitcases full of cash from Gaddafi's coffers to the politician in 2006 and 2007. Since he later unexpectedly retracted his statement, the justice system launched another investigation three years ago to clarify whether the main witness was bribed to revoke his damaging testimony.
