Following a fierce altercation at a refugee center in Potsdam, a guard lost his life. This was declared by the spokeswoman of the prosecutor's office, Theresia Jonitz, according to previous reports by the Berliner Zeitung "B.Z."
The assailant is currently on the loose, noted the spokeswoman. The situation remains murky. She chose not to respond to any inquiries. The authorities have launched a massive effort, with roadblocks in place. The ongoing police operation in Geschwister-Scholl-Straße started early Thursday morning.
