In Pakistan, numerous individuals experience heatstroke.

Many individuals in Pakistan have received treatment for heat-related ailments as doctors report hundreds of cases in Lahore, as well as districts like Hyderabad, Larkana, and Jacobabad in the southern Sindh region. A senior health official, Ghulam Farid, stated that the situation has deteriorated since the day before. To help those in need, authorities have established emergency centers in hospitals plus the state ambulance service provided bottled water and ice to attend to patients experiencing heatstroke. The public was encouraged to spend minimal time outdoors, increase their water consumption, and refrain from traveling unnecessarily. However, numerous workers believe this is not feasible as they must provide for their families.

Extremely high temperatures that experts attribute to climate change have afflicted Pakistan, peaking at 49 degrees Celsius in Mohenjo Daro of Sindh on Wednesday. This city, prominent for its archaeological sites, was also impinged by devastating monsoon rainfall and flooding in 2022. Meteorologists predict the heatwave to persist for at least another week.

The United Nations Children's Fund expressed concern for the protection of children from the scorching heat. Sanjay Wijesekera, Unicef Regional Director for South Asia, mentioned that the organization is highly worried for the well-being and security of infants and young children due to a debilitating heat wave ravaging multiple nations. Burgeoning temperatures across the region could potentially endanger the well-being of countless children if not adequately shielded and hydrated.

Pakistan positioning fifth worldwide in terms of susceptibility to the effects of global warming was conveyed by Rubina Khursheed Alam, Climate Change Coordinator to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, at a press conference held in Islamabad. The nation has positively experienced atypical rainfall and flooding.
