"Bauer sucht Frau" star Uwe Abel - In hospital with broken bones
Shortly before Christmas, "Bauer sucht Frau" star Uwe Abel (54) reports to his fans not from the festively decorated living room, but from the hospital. His wife Iris Abel (55) posted a photo on Instagram showing her husband lying in a hospital bed. He is holding an X-ray into the camera, which apparently shows his shoulder, which had to be operated on with several screws.
Dangerous fall from the balcony
In an interview with RTL, Iris Abel reveals what happened to her husband."Uwe had a bad accident on his birthday (December 9). He fell about three meters from the second floor," says the 55-year-old. "He slipped on the balcony, we have a wooden floor there that is slippery as hell when it gets wet. It was all very unfortunate. He lost his balance and then fell over the railing."
During his fall, Uwe suffered several fractures in his upper arm towards his shoulder. There is now a plate with ten screws there. Her husband also broke his ribs, bruised his lung and fractured his pelvis. "But I'm glad he's still alive. He could have been dead if he had fallen on his head instead of his side."
Uwe Abel can celebrate Christmas at home
At first, Iris Abel did not provide any further information on Instagram, other than "The poor bunny". One follower suspected that Abel had fractured his upper arm in the comment column: "Humerus fracture. Ouch, get well soon!" In the meantime, numerous other fans have joined in the recovery wishes on Instagram. However, Abel does not have to spend Christmas in hospital, as Instagram fans had assumed, as Iris revealed to RTL: "I picked him up from the hospital yesterday." She is happy that they can celebrate Christmas together.

As a "gentle pig farmer" on"Bauer sucht Frau", Uwe Abel found the love of his life in Iris in 2011. The two married two years later and have been sharing their lives with their fans through TV appearances and social media ever since. In 2018, they showed their commitment as a couple and won the RTL show "Das Sommerhaus der Stars". In 2021, Abel also took part in "Promi Big Brother" and came second in the final after reality TV star Melanie Müller (35).
