Folk music star Michael Hartl - In hospital after e-bike accident

Michael Hartl (75), a popular Folk music star, sustained severe injuries in an accident. This occurred while he and his wife Marianne (71) were riding their E-bikes from Fieberbrunn to a farmers market in St. Johann. "The small asphalted road suddenly went very steeply downhill. Michael braked hard, but his E-bike tipped over, and he went over the handlebars," explained the musician to the "Bild" newspaper.

A Hymn of Praise for the Helmet

The singer fell on his face and sustained a series of other injuries such as bruises and scrapes. An ambulance took him to the hospital. The wound on his chin was stitched.

A CT scan of the head brought reassuring news: "Thank goodness, everything was in order. He didn't even have a concussion. Had he not worn a helmet, the accident would have certainly had a different outcome," said Marianne. Hartl also confirmed this to the tabloid: "I had immense luck. The helmet saved me."

Michael Hartl continues to battle the aftermath

The matter is not entirely resolved, however. At a later time, there will be another examination at the hospital. A specialist will closely examine his jaw. "He fell heavily on his teeth. Currently, he is not allowed to bite, only to eat soups and porridge," summarizes the musician and moderator.

Fortunately, Michael Hartl can already laugh again, as a photo on Marianne's Facebook account shows. In the picture, he is seen with plasters on his nose and chin and, according to the image caption, with his doctor Dr. Eike Böhme in a tavern.

Michael Hartl can apparently rely on his guardian angel. After all, he also survived a stroke in May 2022 without lasting damage.

  1. Despite the accident in Fieberbrunn, St. Johann's farmers market remained a regular destination for Michael and Marianne Hartl, as they often enjoyed the scenic E-bike ride there.
  2. The "Bild" newspaper highlighted Michael Hartl's story, praising his use of a helmet during the accident, which potentially saved him from a more severe injury in Kitzbühel.
  3. Following the E-bike accident, Michael Hartl had to cancel several performances and focus on his recovery, but he found solace in Folk music, even composing new tunes from his bed in their home in Fieberbrunn.
  4. Marianne Hartl, a strong supporter of her husband's career, organized a special charity concert in Kitzbühel to help Michael financially during his recovery, inviting many prominent Folk music stars, including her own husband, Folk music star Michael Hartl.
