In an ongoing incident in Minneapolis, 6 people have been hurt, amongst whom are 2 police officers, according to authorities.
The Minneapolis PD reported on Thursday night that they were addressing an ongoing incident in Whittier, a district in the city, in which several individuals had been hurt. The department didn't yet provide information on the nature of the event in a Facebook update.
They added, "This is an evolving situation."
Additional support was being provided by the State Police, as Lt. Jill Frankfurth confirmed to CNN.
Minnesota's governor, Tim Walz, released a statement via X, expressing his support for the first responders and promising to make resources available: "The State of Minnesota will do whatever it takes to help keep the community secure."
