Iconic shoes from Elvis auctioned off

"Blue Suede Shoes" is the title of one of Elvis Presley's most famous songs. Now, the blue suede shoes that the King of Rock'n'Roll personally wore are being auctioned off in England. The auctioneer is "mad about them," as he puts it.

The price wasn't bad: Blue suede shoes (blue suede shoes), which Elvis Presley once wore, were sold at an auction in England for 120,000 pounds (approximately 140,000 Euro). The hammer price was 95,000 pounds. Added fees and VAT bring the total.

"Blue Suede Shoes" is also the title of one of Elvis' most famous songs, with which he became the King of Rock'n'Roll. The buyer is warned in the song to stay away from the elegant footwear. The song was written by Rock'n'Roll pioneer Carl Perkins. "You can do anything, but lay off of my blue suede shoes," it says. (You can do anything, but stay away from my blue suede shoes.)

According to the English auction house Henry Aldridge & Son, Elvis bought the shoes after recording the cover. Their authenticity was reportedly confirmed by leading Elvis expert Jimmy Velvet.

Elvis wore the shoes on TV appearance

The auctioneer, Andrew Aldridge, was quoted by the British Press Association as being "mad about them." "They're just an extraordinary part of showbusiness, music, and popular culture," Aldridge added. Elvis reportedly gave the shoes to a friend just before he was drafted into the military, according to the auction house's website.

Elvis wore the shoes during a TV appearance in the 50s, where he even jokingly mentioned them. "I think I've got something on that doesn't quite fit the evening dress," Elvis, dressed in a tuxedo, said in a casual conversation with TV host Steve Allen and added, "Blue suede shoes."

These iconic blue suede shoes, worn by Elvis Presley during his entertainment career, fetched a substantial amount at the auction. A pound equivalent of 140,000 Euros was the final price bid for the shoes, making them a significant financial appeasurement for the buyer.

The auction of Elvis' blue suede shoes was more than just a sale; it was a celebration of entertainment history. Andrew Aldridge, the auctioneer, expressed his passion, stating, "They're just an extraordinary part of showbusiness, music, and popular culture."

Despite these blue suede shoes being incredibly valuable, they still hold a playful memory from Elvis' TV appearance. During a 50s episode, he joked about his non-formal attire, saying, "I think I've got something on that doesn't quite fit the evening dress," and mentioning the famous shoes, "Blue suede shoes."
