Due to accusations of dishonesty and misappropriation of funds, Chris Töpperwien had been held in investigative detention earlier. If convicted, he was facing a prolonged jail term. However, the renowned TV personality, famously known as the "Currywurst man" from "Goodbye Germany" and a former jungle camp participant, has now been cleared of all charges.

At a trial held in Landesgericht Wiener Neustadt, Chris Töpperwien was exonerated in every count. His previous employer, Austrian "Grill Heaven GmbH", had accused him of infidelity and embezzlement. Regrettably, the judge failed to find substantial proof that he engaged in any criminal act. The case became more complex due to the vast time elapsed since the alleged incidents.

Elated by the verdict, Töpperwien expressed gratitude in a subsequent RTL interview. He revealed, "I'm extremely happy that this ordeal has finally come to an end." He further added, "These past few months have been nothing short of a living hell for me, and I'm sure it's been just as tough for my family." He is eagerly anticipating his homecoming to Los Angeles, where he can resume his ordinary life once again.

Arrest in Munich

In 2021, while serving as the company's managing director, Töpperwien was accused of utilizing company funds for personal expenditures. Specifically, he reportedly utilized a corporate credit card to cover expenses related to renovating a house he had purchased. The company claimed that a damage of about 9,000 euros was incurred.

Following the company's complaint, a European arrest warrant was issued. This led to Töpperwien's apprehension at Munich Airport in early May, as he was entering Germany for a TV production. Töpperwien remained in investigative custody for two weeks before being released on bail, and the trial commenced in Vienna.

Chris Töpperwien rose to prominence in 2012 via the Vox format "Goodbye Germany! Die Auswanderer." Due to his aspiration at the time to forge a career with a currywurst stand in Los Angeles, he earned the nickname "Currywurst man." In 2019, Töpperwien ventured into the jungle camp, where his recurring disagreements with Bastian Yotta, another reality TV star, made headlines. Töpperwien ultimately placed sixth in the show.

In the aftermath of his clearance, Chris Töpperwien returned to reality television, participating in a new season of "Goodbye Germany" as a guest. His experience on the show was a testament to his ability to bounce back from adversity, gaining sympathy from viewers.

Despite the ordeal, Chris Töpperwien's popularity in the world of reality television remained undimmed. His participation in various shows served as a reminder of his resilience and his continued love for the entertainment industry.
