Julia Roberts - How she defends the baby photo of her children

Julia Roberts (56) has explained in an interview why she posted a childhood photo of her twins Hazel and Phinnaeus on social media on their 19th birthday. "It's something that should be celebrated, and I know that Instagram is a place where people like to share happy things," she said in an interview with "Extra" magazine. A journalist had approached the Hollywood star about the private snapshot, as Roberts is actually known for protecting her privacy.

The Oscar winner had only given sporadic glimpses into her family life in the past and attracted a lot of attention with the Instagram photo, which she shared with her 11.7 million followers. "I love her so much and really only came across this sweet picture by chance," said the 56-year-old, explaining her decision. "It's a way for me, as a proud mother, to share something of them without invading their privacy."

The actress had already published a special throwback photo on Instagram on her twins' 18th birthday, but the children's faces were not visible. This year, Roberts did not hide the twins, with both sitting on her lap in the photo and looking into the camera. On November 28, she wrote about the memento online: "There are no words for the joy, the fun, the wild rush of life together."

Julia Roberts appreciates the way her children treat her

In an interview with "Today", Julia Roberts raved about still being able to be the same mother to her children as she used to be. There is no eye-rolling from her twins and a "great deal of understanding" that both sides have for each other. "I parent them the same way outside the home as I do at home. That is, 'Are you getting enough sleep? You sound like you're sick. Are you drinking tea?' And, 'Text me when you get home so I can see you're okay,'" says the "Leave The World Behind" actress.
