Alexander Morris raises significant allegations. - Hospital sued by Four Tops member
Alexander Morris, a 53-year-old member of the popular American soul group The Four Tops, is reportedly suing a hospital. According to "bbc.com", Morris asserts that doctors stopped treatment and demanded a psychological assessment, believing he was not famous.
Morris joined the group in 2018. In his lawsuit, he claims he visited the Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital in Detroit in April 2023 due to breathing issues and chest pain. He alleges that he faced racial slurs at the hospital and the doctors assumed he was mentally ill when he disclosed he was connected to the Four Tops. In his lawsuit, Morris stated that he had concerns regarding security due to stalkers and enthusiasts and told hospital personnel about his membership in the well-known band.
Oxygen mask exchanged for straitjacket
Apparently, the staff "presumed he was mentally ill when he disclosed his identity as a celebrity," according to the allegations. Consequently, they removed his oxygen mask and strapped him in a straitjacket. Morris' wife was allegedly disregarded when she tried to assure the staff that he was not delusional.
The staff, supposedly, realized their error when Morris played them recordings of his Grammy Awards performance with the group. They then extended an apology with a gift card worth over $25 (23 euros), which he refused. Subsequently, Morris was diagnosed with a severe heart condition and pneumonia, as per the report.
The hospital previously mentioned in media outlets that "patient health and safety is our priority" and that "we do not condone any form of racial discrimination." Further details regarding the ongoing investigations were not disclosed.
