Jodie Foster on superhero movies - "Hopefully people will soon get fed up with them"
Jodie Foster (61) is apparently one of the Hollywood stars who are not the biggest fans of superhero films. In an interview with "Elle ", the Oscar winner explained that she feels Marvel and DC films are just "a phase".
"It's a phase that's lasted a little too long for me, but it's a phase, and I've seen so many different phases," she said. "Hopefully people will get tired of it soon. The good movies like 'Iron Man', 'Black Panther' or 'Matrix' I adore and I'm carried away by the entertainment."
Jodie Foster added in the interview: "But that's not why I became an actress. And these movies don't change my life. Hopefully there's room for everything else." The 61-year-old is not the first star to speak negatively about superhero flicks. Star directors Francis Ford Coppola (84), Martin Scorsese (81) and John Woo (77), among others, have already expressed their disapproval of them in the past.
This is Jodie Foster's favorite film
Jodie Foster also told "Elle" what kind of movies she loves. "Everything Everywhere All at Once" may remain her favorite film forever, she said. She explained that it is a movie she watches again and again when she is feeling depressed or sad. The movie also connects her with her two sons.
"I saw it for the first time with one of my sons and we held hands and pinched each other and cried for 45 minutes afterwards," she said. "And then I saw it a week later with my other son and it just opened a portal of connection, understanding and hope. He started telling me everything about his high school that he had never told me, and we walked through the rain crying and talking openly. And I thought, 'This is what movies can do."
Jodie Foster has two Oscars
Jodie Foster is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. She has already won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role twice: in 1989 for "Accused" and in 1992 for "The Silence of the Lambs". Will there be another golden boy soon? She is currently being celebrated alongside Annette Bening (65) for her role in the Netflix film "Nyad".
