Hoenig faces significant limitations and impediments.

Actor Heinz Hoenig's pending life-saving heart operation should be put on hold for now. His manager Birgit Fischer-Höper informed RTL that despite being "fully conscious", Hoenig isn't stable enough for surgery yet due to the need for artificial ventilation.

The 72-year-old star is currently recuperating in a Berlin hospital, having undergone an initial operation on his esophagus. Post this procedure, he was put back into an artificially induced coma. His manager updated fans, stating that Hoenig is now awake but still reliant on a ventilator.

Despite being awake, Hoenig remains confined to the intensive care unit. His manager further clarified that while he is conscious, his condition is limiting and handicapping.

The operation on Hoenig's aorta, where a bacterial infection has caused damage to a stent implant, cannot be done yet as Hoenig's condition isn't stable. Fischer-Höper explained that once Hoenig is weaned off the ventilator and stabilizes, then they can consider scheduling the other operation. However, they are currently focused on helping Hoenig recover and improving his breathing. The timeline for these improvements is uncertain at this point.

Heinz Hoenig was hospitalized in early May due to a life-threatening condition. In addition to the bacterial infection, a hole in his esophagus was discovered and addressed in the initial operation. His wife, Annika Kärsten-Hoenig, whom he married in 2019, is worrying about their children Juliano and Jianni, hoping for a speedy recovery for the actor.
