Kevin De Bruyne - His luxury villa in Belgium was vandalized
Shocking moment for soccer superstar Kevin De Bruyne (32). As reported by the British "Daily Mail", among others, the Belgian home of the Manchester City midfielder was vandalized by burglars. However, De Bruyne, his wife Michèle Lacroix and their three children were not present at the time of the break-in last Saturday. The star player is currently in Saudi Arabia with his team.
It is not yet known what items were stolen. The criminals used a stepladder to gain access to the second floor of the villa in Bolderberg and got into the house. The former Werder Bremen and VfL Wolfsburg professional bought a 70-hectare plot of land in 2015. He built an opulent villa made of white natural stone on it, which was completed in 2019. According to media reports, the property is said to have a swimming pool, a whirlpool and a basketball court.
Kevin De Bruyne actually lives just a few kilometers south of Manchester
Kevin De Bruyne is one of the top earners in the Premier League with a reported annual salary of just under 25 million euros. Naturally, De Bruyne and his family are rarely to be found at the villa in Belgium: During the season, they live in a house in Wilmslow, just a few kilometers south of Manchester.
De Bruyne initially played for the Belgian club Genk and moved to the island for the first time in 2012. However, he was unable to establish himself at Chelsea FC and was loaned out to Bremen after just a few weeks. The permanent move to Wolfsburg followed in 2014. The goal-scoring midfielder returned to England for a year. Since then, he has played for Manchester City, where he has won the league five times. The team won the Champions League in 2023.
