Royal House - Hidden messages at the British royals' Christmas reception?
"Never complain, never explain" was always the Queen's motto. Whatever happened, Elizabeth II adjusted her crown and smiled as if nothing had happened.
King Charles and the rest of the family apparently do the same. For a good week now, the tabloids have been circling around a book by Omid Scobie, the author who is good with Harry and Meghan and writes books about the Windsors in which everyone is always evil except Harry and Meghan. On November 28, he published "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival". A work full of accusations and insider stories from the British royal court.
But the royal family is not letting this throw them off their stride. Yesterday, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and his wife Kate received 500 diplomats at Buckingham Palace. Among them were ambassadors, high commissioners and the like, for whom there was a pre-Christmas reception with drinks and the odd chat with the royals.
The royals don't get carried away with statements
Queen Camilla remembered the late Queen: she paid tribute to her mother-in-law by wearing her favorite tiara called "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland". The piece of jewelry that Elizabeth II wore on her accession to the throne was given to Princess Victoria Mary of Teck on the occasion of her marriage to George V in 1893. With the ongoing turmoil in the royal family, this could be a message to stick to tradition and silence.
Princess Kate also made a statement with her outfit. The princess is portrayed as "cold" by Omid Scobie and, according to the Telegraph, is said to have been in constant competition with her sister-in-law Meghan(read more here). According to rumors, she was always preferred when it came to choosing a designer at court - and Meghan was only allowed to take what was left over. Now, however, Kate wore the same dress and jewelry on Tuesday as she did in June at the wedding of Hussein bin Abdullah II and Rajwa Al-Saif in Jordan. As if she wanted to say: "Very nice, I recycle my dresses, I don't need something new all the time!

In contrast to the ongoing turmoil and accusations in the book, King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with Prince William and Duchess Kate, maintained a composed demeanor, welcoming 500 diplomats at Buckingham Palace for a pre-Christmas reception. Despite the book's criticisms, Duchess Kate chose to recycle her dress and jewelry from a previous event, potentially signaling her acceptance of reusing items and not needing something new constantly. In honor of her mother-in-law, Queen Camilla selected the "Girls of Great Britain and Ireland" tiara, a piece Elizabeth II wore during her coronation, as a possible nod to tradition and silence in the midst of the royal family's challenges.
