Heino makes Till Lindemann an explicit offer

Ten years ago, Heino performed on stage with Rammstein. He was taken with the song "Sonne". The 84-year-old would now like to repeat this with "Engel". The singer vehemently defends frontman Lindemann against the latest accusations.

The folk singer Heino, real name Heinz Georg Kramm, would perform with the rock band Rammstein again at any time. After he released his rock album "Mit freundlichen Grüßen" in 2013, which included a cover of the Rammstein track "Sonne", frontman Till Lindemann called him and asked if he would perform with the band at the "Wacken Festival". "So we stood in front of 80,000 people, there were double-page spreads in magazines and lots of PR, they also benefited from me. And I would do it again if Till Lindemann asked," Heino told the "Rheinische Post". "Now, ten years later, it's actually even more interesting," said the 84-year-old. "And I already have a title wish: Angel."

Regarding the scandal surrounding Lindemann, who has been accused by several women of abusing his power in contact with female groupies, Heino says: "It should be forbidden to make such accusations in public." No one can defend themselves against women coming forward years later and making such claims. Even if the investigations have been closed, something will always stick, Heino told the newspaper: "None of us can say for sure whether it happened that way. I don't believe that what the women claim is true. The way I experienced the band for two days in Wacken, I can't imagine that it happened like that. Till Lindemann is an absolute professional who knows what he's doing and where the boundaries are."

"The AfD should be banned"

In contrast, the folk singer is more rigorous when it comes to the German party landscape: in his opinion, the AfD should be banned, Heino demanded in an interview with the newspaper, having already said something similar four years ago in an Austrian medium. "I never wanted to speak out politically, but I did in an interview in 2019 and said quite clearly that the AfD should be banned. Of course, I still think that today." If you look at the AfD's poll ratings today, it's frightening.

"The issue of homeland and customs should not be left to this party," said the 84-year-old. He cited a concert in Düsseldorf that caused a stir in 2021 because it was advertised on posters with the subtitle "A German song recital" as an example of the wrong way to deal with it. "That's madness - what's wrong with the word 'German'? They were afraid of riots if we phrased it like that - I still can't understand it today," the folk singer told the Rheinische Post. The director of the Tonhalle, Michael Becker, had asked Heino's management to change the subtitle, otherwise the posters would not be put up in the Tonhalle. After the Mayor of Düsseldorf, Stephan Keller, intervened, Becker rowed back.
