Bryan Adams (64) took Amy Winehouse (1983-2011) on a family vacation to help her overcome her alcohol addiction. The singer revealed this in an interview with "The Sunday Times". In 2007, the singer traveled with Adams and his family to the Caribbean over the holidays. There he tried to help the then 24-year-old get sober.

Adams, who also works as a photographer, met the "Back to Black" performer at a photo shoot, after which they became friends. The "Summer of '69" singer admired his girlfriend's talent. "She wrote her own songs, had a unique voice and a great personality," he said on the "Andrew Marr Show".As Amy Winehouse had struggled with drug and alcohol problems for years, the musician invited her to his villa in Mustique, a private island in the Caribbean, for Christmas. There he encouraged her to eat a vegan diet and served her carrot and beetroot juice, among other things. However, this did not go down well with Winehouse. "I tried to help her, but it has to come from within," Adams explained in the interview. "Was I able to make a difference? I don't know," he added.

Amy Wine house died of alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011 at the age of 27.
