Is the recovery on its way? For the first time, Heinz Hoeneß spoke personally in a video from the hospital.

- He is speaking for the first time in person.

These are images that inspire hope: For over 100 days, Heinz Hoenig (72) has been fighting for his life on an intensive care unit, and now he can sit up and even stand. For the first time, the actor is addressing his fans with a video message. His wife, Annika Kärsten-Hönig (39), shared an emotional video on Instagram, showing the 72-year-old looking noticeably fitter than before, although still quite thin.

"In your chest beats a fighter's heart," Annika wrote with the video she posted in her story. "Success is not a destination... but a journey!" In the clip, Hoenig, supported by his wife, slowly gets out of the hospital bed, stands for a few seconds with her in his arms, and gives her a kiss. These are the first images of the actor in three months that don't show him lying in bed.

First personal words to his fans

But that's not all: Soon after, Heinz Hoenig personally addresses his fans from the hospital! In a video published by RTL, the 72-year-old says: "Hello, fans, dear colleagues. I want to sincerely thank those who have helped me." He appears optimistic and grateful: "I'm still in the hospital, where everything is being fixed. And I have a good woman who takes care of me, and two little children I want to go back to. Everything will be fine. I thank you all."

While speaking to the camera, Hoenig is sitting in a hospital bed, with a tracheostoma on his neck to help him breathe. The actor has clearly lost weight.

Heinz Hoenig had to be revived

When the videos were taken is unknown. Just a few days ago, his wife told the magazine "Bunte" that Heinz Hoenig had to be revived about two weeks ago. However, there are also positive news: Hoenig is no longer being orally intubated and can breathe independently through the tracheostoma. With a walker, the actor can already walk a few meters.

Independent breathing is a significant step as it is necessary for the life-saving heart operation on the aorta that the actor has been waiting for for three months, as Kärsten-Hönig recently revealed to the "Bild" newspaper. Heinz Hoenig was admitted to a Berlin hospital at the beginning of May in a critical condition and has been on the intensive care unit since then.

After sharing her emotional video on Instagram, Annika encouraged her followers with the words, "In your chest beats a fighter's heart." Heinz Hoenig also took to Instagram, expressing gratitude to his fans and colleagues for their support.

Despite his ongoing health challenges, Hoenig remained optimistic in his video message, expressing his determination to return home to his family.
