Alec Baldwin - He confronted pro-Palestine demonstrators

US actor Alec Baldwin (65) got into a loud argument with a demonstrator at a pro-Palestine rally in New York City. As a video published by US broadcaster NBC shows, the police removed Baldwin from the scene after the incident to prevent further escalation. The demonstration was organized by the local Palestinian group "Within Our Lifetime". It is not clear from the footage whether Baldwin was present by chance or took part in the demonstration on purpose.

In the footage, the serious-looking Baldwin can be seen and heard discussing with some of the demonstrators, some of whom are filming him with their smartphones. The scenario then appears to get out of hand. At one point in the recorded snippets of conversation, Baldwin clearly says: "This is my business. This is my business." A few moments later, one of the protesters asks him the question: "You work for Hollywood, do you condemn Israel?" Baldwin replies with a frown: "You've already made up your mind?" The man replies a short "That's your answer?" after which Baldwin storms towards him and repeats again and again in an insistent tone: "You're asking stupid questions! Ask me a smart question!"

While Baldwin approaches the questioner and appears to physically attack him, more and more police officers suddenly intervene. The officers then escort Baldwin out of the crowd. Individual participants then shout "Fuck off!" and "Why are you even here?" in Baldwin's direction. Baldwin seems to have had enough of the discussion and only replies with a snide "Shut up!". How the argument came about and the exact content of the disagreement is not yet clear. Neither Baldwin nor the New York Police Department responded to inquiries from NBC.

Israel and the Palestinian Hamas have been at war since the beginning of October

Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, are currently at war. The current conflict was triggered by an attack by Hamas on Israeli territory on October 7, 2023. Around 1,200 people were killed in the attack and around 250 others were deported to the Gaza Strip. At the same time, thousands of rockets were fired at Israeli cities. The Israeli armed forces responded immediately with massive bombardments and rocket attacks and launched a parallel ground offensive in the Gaza Strip at the end of October, which continues to this day.
