Harvey Weinstein is in the hospital. The convicted film mogul was transferred from Rikers Island Prison to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan on Thursday, according to his representatives. He is reportedly being treated there for multiple health issues, including a Coronavirus infection and pneumonia. According to a statement from Weinstein's spokesperson, he also suffers from diabetes, hypertension, spinal canal stenosis, and has fluid in his heart and lungs.

In the same statement, Weinstein's spokesperson thanked the officers, doctors, and nurses who arranged for his swift transfer from prison to a closed ward of the hospital: "We thank the officers, doctors, and nurses who made sure Mr. Weinstein was transferred promptly, and we will continue to work closely with them to ensure that Mr. Weinstein receives appropriate medical care."

Currently, Weinstein is actually awaiting the next trial in the context of the #metoo debate. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison in New York and California for sexual assault and rape. However, the sentence was overturned due to procedural errors. The next hearing is scheduled for November. However, he must remain in prison for the time being, as he was sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexual misconduct in Los Angeles. He is currently appealing this verdict. Weinstein continues to maintain that he has never sexually abused anyone.

In the hospital ward, Harvey Weinstein is currently receiving treatment for a Coronavirus infection, pneumonia, diabetes, hypertension, spinal canal stenosis, and lung inflammation known as lungesttalitis. Despite these health challenges, the convicted film mogul is also awaiting his next trial in the midst of the #metoo debate.
