Harvey Weinstein is in the hospital. The convicted film mogul was transferred from Rikers Island Prison to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan on Thursday, according to his representatives. He is reportedly being treated there for multiple health issues, including a Coronavirus infection and pneumonia. According to a statement from Weinstein's spokesperson, he also suffers from diabetes, hypertension, spinal canal stenosis, and has fluid in his heart and lungs.

In the same statement, Weinstein's spokesperson thanked the officers, doctors, and nurses who arranged for his swift transfer from prison to a closed ward of the hospital: "We thank the officers, doctors, and nurses who made sure Mr. Weinstein was transferred promptly, and we will continue to work closely with them to ensure that Mr. Weinstein receives appropriate medical care."
Currently, Weinstein is actually awaiting the next trial in the context of the #metoo debate. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison in New York and California for sexual assault and rape. However, the sentence was overturned due to procedural errors. The next hearing is scheduled for November.
