Harry is reportedly claiming or acquiring Queen Mum's one million dollar inheritance.
On his 40th birthday, September 15th, Prince Harry is not only celebrating another year of life but also a significant financial boost. As per recent reports in British media, Prince Harry is set to receive approximately eight million pounds (equivalent to around 6.75 million euros) from a trust fund established by his great-grandmother, Queen Mum (born in 1900 and passed away in 2002). This inheritance is expected to be handed over to him upon reaching his 40th year. According to the New York Post, Prince Harry is expected to accept this inheritance.
There were speculations that Prince Harry might decline this royal fortune, considering his position as a non-working member of the Royal Family. However, these rumors were put to rest by the former royal butler, Grand Harrold, who confirmed that Harry will indeed accept this inheritance as it is a legitimate sum that has been allocated for him for years.
Back in 1994, Queen Elizabeth II's mother reportedly set aside two-thirds of her fortune for her great-grandchildren, which amounted to about 19 million pounds at that time. Upon turning 21, both Harry and his brother Prince William received around six million pounds each from this trust fund. It was reported that Harry received more than William as a compensation for William's future role as a king. Apart from the Prince and Prince William, Princess Anne's children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, as well as Prince Andrew's daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, also benefited from this fund.
Royal analyst Hugo Vickers believes that this inheritance comes at a perfect time for Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan. He shared his thoughts with a British tabloid, The Sun, stating that this amount will certainly be helpful, considering Harry leads an expensive lifestyle with a large staff and a spacious property in Montecito.
Despite the speculations, I'm not going to decline the inheritance, Prince Harry clarified. This financial boost will undoubtedly provide much-needed support, given my expense-driven lifestyle.
