Harald Glööckler celebrates with the ex

This is a real Christmas surprise: as star designer Harald Glööckler revealed to RTL, he will be spending the holidays with his ex Dieter Schroth. It was only in February that Glööckler had applied to dissolve his civil partnership with Schroth and moved back to Berlin after eight years together in Kirchheim an der Weinstraße in the Palatinate. However, Schroth and he have a "very good, very pleasant relationship", says Glööckler. Hence his plan to spend Boxing Day with Schroth in the Palatinate.
To great applause from his fans, Glööckler inaugurated the "Wiesbadener Winterstubb" Christmas market in Wiesbaden on Tuesday. Wrapped in a stylish black and white fur coat and in the best winter and Christmas mood, he chatted about his Christmas plans.
"Found another level"
Is he facing a lonely Christmas in view of his separation from Dieter Schroth and his move to Berlin? Not at all: "I'm a Gemini, so you're never lonely. I'll be spending Christmas Eve in bed with my cute little dog. I'll put champagne and pasta with truffles next to the bed, it's so traditional. And I'm looking forward to watching a few nice movies and series. Plus some Christmas cookies and candles. I want to come to myself a little meditatively."
The dazzling designer also revealed that he and his ex-partner still have more in common than many believed: "We've found another level. We lasted over 35 years together, which is a long time. And why not spend Christmas together too?" On Boxing Day, Glööckler returns to the place that was his home for eight years. After the turbulence at the beginning of the year, it now looks like a real separation on good terms and a peaceful celebration at the Glööckler and Schroth home.
