Hannelore is dead
Over the past few days, reports have been doing the rounds that the wife of folk musician Heino is not well. Now it is known: The 81-year-old, known to everyone only as Hannelore, died a week ago at the couple's shared home in Kitzbühel. Her husband is "devastated".
Hannelore Kramm, the wife of Heinz Georg Kramm, better known as Heino, is dead. This was confirmed by Helmut Werner, the folk musician's manager. The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported on the death of the 81-year-old, who everyone knew only as Hannelore.
"Heino is devastated and in deep mourning," said the manager, giving an insight into the singer's current emotional life. "That was the worst day of his life."
According to Werner, Hannelore died on November 8 in her bed at the couple's shared home in Kitzbühel, Austria. Last year, Heino had announced that he and his wife, who had lived in Bad Münstereifel for many years, had retired there at Hannelore's request.
"Death in seconds" due to cardiac arrest
"If I was the only one in charge, I would move to Düsseldorf," said Heino in November 2022. But: "Hannelore feels more comfortable in Austria." His wife likes the climate in the Austrian Alpine community better.
According to the newspaper Bild, Heino was in Berlin for rehearsals for a TV show when he and his manager received the news that Hannelore was not feeling well at home. The singer then abandoned the rehearsals and returned to Kitzbühel, while Werner informed the emergency services. By the time the emergency doctor arrived, however, Hannelore was no longer responsive. Resuscitation attempts had been unsuccessful.
Hannelore suffered a so-called "instant death" due to sudden cardiac arrest, the "Bild" newspaper further reports. She fainted and did not wake up again without suffering. Werner explained to the newspaper that Heino kept his wife's death a secret for a week: "It was Heino's express wish to be able to say goodbye to his beloved wife in silence."
Married since 1979
Heino and Hannelore Auer met in 1972. At the time, she was still in her first marriage to Alfred von Auersperg. The singer, on the other hand, was already in his second marriage at the time. After divorcing a few years later, they finally walked down the aisle together in 1979. Since then, Hannelore has put her own career as an actress and singer on the back burner. Instead, she acted as her husband's manager for a time.
The couple remained childless. However, Heino brought two children into the relationship with Hannelore. A son, born in 1960, came from his first marriage. An illegitimate daughter was born in 1968. She took her own life in 2003.
Car accident and heart attack
Hannelore had been struggling with health problems for many years. She suffered from the consequences of a serious car accident in the 1970s, which she only just survived. According to the "Bild" newspaper, the broken bones caused her so much trouble in old age that she eventually had to rely on a walking frame.
In 2004, the Austrian, who was born in Linz in 1942, also suffered a serious heart attack. Stents, bypasses and medication saved her life.
In interviews, Heino often said things like "I can't and won't imagine life without Hannelore" or "I would like to leave this world before my Hannelore". Now the 84-year-old has to cope with the loss of the love of his life.
In the wake of Hannelore's passing, many people are reflecting on the couple's shared love for folk music. As a tribute to her, several German folk music artists have dedicated their recent performances to Hannelore, honoring her significant role in their genre.
The news of Hannelore's death has also resonated among celebrity couples, with many expressing their condolences to Heino. Many of these couples have shared their own stories of how Hannelore's folk music touched their lives, further underscoring her profound impact on the entertainment industry and music lovers everywhere.
