Katy Perry (39) and Orlando Bloom (47) took the plunge. The celebrity couple jumped out of a helicopter into the sea while on vacation in Sardinia. On Instagram, the singer posted a video of the action.
A portion of the clip was filmed by Orlando Bloom. The actor held a camera in his left hand during the jump, while holding his fiancée's hand with his right. They counted to three, then it was time to head towards the water. Mid-air, the couple lost contact with each other.
Katy Perry's jumping technique seems a bit uncertain. She spreads her legs out in flight and goes into a crouch, as shown in an Instagram still. Orlando Bloom, on the other hand, dives in elegantly and straight. No surprise there, the "Lord of the Rings" actor is used to extreme activities. In his new docuseries "To the Edge," the Brit tries his hand at skydiving, mountaineering, and freediving.
Katy Perry's singing career also seems to be in free fall. Her last two singles "Woman's World" and "Lifetimes" flopped according to the business magazine "Forbes" on the streaming service Spotify. Her hopes now rest on her new album "143," set to be released on September 20.
Vacation with a Billionaire
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are not the only ones vacationing in Sardinia. They are guests on the $500 million yacht of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (60). Actor Leonardo DiCaprio (49) and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti (26) are also said to have visited the yacht. Bezos' fiancée, TV host Lauren Sánchez (54), is said to have flown the helicopter from which Bloom and Perry jumped. Last year, Perry and Bloom also vacationed with the Amazon billionaire on his boat.
