- Grieving TV lioness recalls her deceased offspring
On Monday, Dagmar Wöhrl (70) honored her deceased son Emanuel on Instagram. At the age of 12, Emanuel tragically passed away on July 1, 2001, after falling from a house's rooftop. "Today, 37 years ago, you finished our happiness, our family, and made me extremely proud," the businesswoman and investor wrote in her Instagram post, marking her son's birthday. She continued, "Today, I find myself staring at your photos and reminiscing. I strive to be strong and celebrate this day with joy, but this heavy sorrow suddenly overwhelms me."
"Cheers to You, Manu!"
Wöhrl couldn't help but contemplate various questions that lingered within her until her final breath, longing for another chance to see her son. "If only I could glimpse your appearance today. Would you have started a family? Would you have ventured abroad? What profession would you have chosen?" The memories of her son, "his laughter and vivacious spirit," served as "a radiant beacon illuminating me in dark periods," she penned. "You hold a special place in my heart, a space that no one else could ever fill." Her post closed with: "Happy Birthday, Manu! May heaven rejoice in your honor. Love, Mama."
Emanuel entered the world in 1988, the firstborn to Dagmar Wöhrl and entrepreneur Hans Rudolf Wöhrl (76), who tied the knot in 1984. The couple was blessed with two boys, Marcus born in 1985, and Emanuel in 1988.
Dagmar Wöhrl has been an investor on the German TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" since 2017. In the program, entrepreneurs hope to secure an investor for their innovative ideas. The 16th season, which also marks the 10th anniversary of the show, premieres in September 2nd.
Despite her efforts to celebrate Emanuel's birthday with joy, Dagmar's grief suddenly resurfaced, making the day bittersweet. Memories of Emanuel's laughter and vivacious spirit brought momentary comfort, but the void left by his loss was still palpable.
