Gordon Ramsay expresses gratitude for being alive, reveals extensive bruising following a cycling mishap.

Renowned TV cook shared a video on his Instagram, disclosing a traumatic accident that left him shaken.

In the video, he acknowledged his good fortune for survival, expressing gratitude towards the "remarkable" trauma specialists, doctors, and nurses who attended him.

He noted in the caption that he's "doing alright" now, had avoided fracturing bones, and merely endured some bruises that made him look like a purpled potato.

In the video, the star of "Hell's Kitchen" raised his white chef's jacket to reveal a colossal purple bruise on his torso.

"Grateful to be standing here," Ramsay, a passionate cyclist and triathlon contender, stated. "I'm hurting, it's been a tough week, and I'm weaving my way through, but I can't emphasize enough the significance of wearing a helmet."

He firmly believed the helmet likely saved his life.

CNN contacted a representative of Ramsay for comment.
